Ruffwear Quencher Collapsible Dog Bowl (Medium)
The Ruffwear Quencher is the original collapsible dog bowl and still the benchmark for trail hydration. The flexible shell springs open into a stable 4.2-cup (1 L) bowl, then folds flat to a pancake that slips into a pack pocket or clips to a harness via its integrated carabiner loop. The interior is a waterproof, food-grade coated fabric that holds water without leaking, while the water-resistant shell shrugs off dirt and mud between rinses. A reflective trim keeps it visible at dusk, and the whole thing weighs next to nothing. For hikers, campers, and trail runners with a thirsty dog, it's the one bowl that earns its space in the pack every single trip.

A thirsty dog at the beach will lap salt water if fresh water isn't offered first — and ocean water means vomiting and diarrhea in the tent that night. The Ruffwear Quencher springs open in one motion for an instant fresh-water stop, then rinses clean of sand with a single dunk and folds flat for the walk back.
🏆 How It Compares
The Quencher folds flat to pocket size and springs open in one motion — no assembly, no stiffening — and its waterproof coated interior holds a full liter with zero leaks. The tradeoff is capacity: at 1 liter, big dogs on long hot hikes will need refills, and it suits water and dry kibble rather than wet food. For trail stops, beach days, and camp, it is the cleanest way to get fresh water in front of your dog.
