There is no sales desk here: the same people who test and write the buying guides also answer the inbox, so your message goes straight to someone who knows the gear.

What We Can Help With
- Gear questions for a specific trip. Tell us the trip (state, season, tent or RV, number of adults/kids/dogs) and what you are deciding between. If we have already covered the answer, we will point you at the exact guide — for example the camp stove fuel guide for propane vs butane vs isobutane, or the tent size guide for capacity math.
- Corrections. Spotted a wrong spec, a broken link, a price that has drifted, or a claim that does not match the manual? Send the URL and the sentence. Corrections are the highest-priority mail we get.
- Product suggestions. If a tent, stove, cooler, or piece of dog gear deserves a look, send the brand, model, and where it is sold.
- Press, data, and partnerships. Reporters and outdoor brands: we will share what we know about seasonal camping demand, and we are open to supplying quotes or data to writers covering family camping and camping gear.

What We Do Not Do
So nobody wastes a pitch: we do not sell placements, rankings, or follow links. We do not run sponsored posts inside buying guides, we do not accept guest posts that exist to carry a commercial link, and we do not add a product to a guide because it was sent to us for free. Rankings are unaffected by who is asking, and a paid or gifted product gets exactly the same treatment as one we bought at retail.
Corrections and Updates
TrailMapz is written from manufacturer specifications, published manuals, and field use, and we re-check prices and availability as pages are updated. When something is wrong we fix the article itself and re-publish the page, so the correction is where readers actually are. If a fix changes a recommendation, the reason is written into the page rather than quietly swapped.
Response Times
- Corrections and broken links: usually a few days.
- Reader gear questions: a few days, longer in the middle of camping season (May–September).
- Press and partnership inquiries: within a week.
If you did not hear back, please resend — mail sent from a new domain sometimes lands in spam, and a resend with the same subject line usually gets through.

No. We do not sell placements, rankings, or do-follow links, and no product enters a guide because of payment, free gear, or a discount.
How do I report a mistake or an out-of-date price?
Send the article URL and the exact sentence or number that is wrong. Factual errors and stale prices are corrected and the page re-published, usually within a few days.
Can I suggest a product for TrailMapz to cover?
Yes — send the name, brand, and where it is sold. A suggestion does not guarantee coverage, and anything we cover is evaluated on the same criteria as the rest of the catalog.
Before You Write: Where Readers Usually Start
A lot of the mail we get is already answered on the site. The gear guides are the shortlists by category, the blog carries the scene and planning articles (fall and winter camping, state-by-state camping, dog and kid gear), and the tent size calculator answers sizing questions with your own numbers. If you would rather compare two specific products side by side, the gear comparison tool does that without an email.
