Osprey Jet 18L Kid's Hiking Backpack, Green
The Osprey Jet 18L is a real hiking pack scaled for small adventurers (ages 4-10). It carries the same AirScape backpanel, adjustable torso harness, and sternum strap with safety whistle you'd find on Osprey's adult packs — so it grows with your kid instead of being outgrown in a season. The 18-liter main compartment swallows a jacket, snacks, a water bottle, and a small toy or two, with a soft-lined scratch pocket on top for sunglasses or a phone. A mesh side pocket holds a hydration bottle, and the pack's load-lifter straps keep weight high and close to the body. The green colorway stands out on the trail.

A kid wearing an adult daypack sags, chafes, and throws off their balance on the trail — so you end up carrying their stuff anyway. The Jet 18L scales Osprey's real AirScape backpanel and torso adjustment to kids 4-10, with a safety whistle on the sternum strap, so your child carries their own load comfortably and you both enjoy the hike.
🏆 How It Compares
The Jet 18L brings Osprey's real AirScape backpanel, adjustable torso harness, and load-lifter straps down to kids roughly 4–10, so a small hiker carries their own water, snacks, and jacket in a pack that fits instead of sags — with a safety whistle built into the sternum strap. The $80 price is premium for gear a kid may outgrow in a few seasons, there is no hydration-bladder sleeve (a bottle rides in the mesh side pocket), and torso sizing should be checked before buying — but it is backed by Osprey's All Mighty Guarantee and survives multiple kids.
