You can use the fan and light together or separately. On high fan, I got about 8 hours before it slowed down with fresh energizer batteries. We’re ordering more to put at each table while camping since it’s so humid where we are. The light is fairly bright and illuminates the entire inside of my 10-person cabin-like tent.
